Creating a pool instance

Now we are ready to create a pool instance. Start the Drive Bender Manager and select pool dashboard, then “Add a new pool”. From here you will need to specify a pool name and an option description.

The pool type supports both managed and unmanaged pools. A managed pool is a pool that is managed entirely by Drive Bender. All aspects of the pools content including the location of files, duplication and file health are managed. This type of pool is best suited for permanent use. An unmanaged pool is a pool that is user managed. The user specifies the location of files copied to the pool, in addition features like duplication are not support. Unmanaged pools also allow for disks to be added and removed on the fly as their structure is totally unchanged. This type of pool is best suited for non-permanent use.

Important - Unmanaged mode is currently not supported.
